Questions to ask before you start a mobile app
A few decisions made before any code is written settle who the app will serve and how long it will last.

Who will open it, and to solve what?
A good app idea starts with a person and a problem, not a list of features. If you cannot write in one sentence who opens the app, at what moment and why, it is too early to design screens.
What will the first version leave out?
Setting scope means choosing what stays out, not what goes in. The first version should do one job well from start to finish; everything else builds on what real use teaches you.
Who looks after it after launch?
A mobile app is not finished when it is released. Operating system updates, store rules and user feedback all call for regular care. Agreeing early on who takes that on saves surprises later.
