Why a corporate site and its admin panel belong together

Who will update the site's content, and how? Answer that before the design, and the site stays alive.

A site keeps changing once it is live

A corporate site is at its most current on launch day; after that come new products, prices, announcements and team changes. If every change has to wait for a developer, the content soon goes stale.

The panel is designed for the people who write

An admin panel is not a technical add-on but the site's second face. The person using it is usually not a developer. Field names, previews and error messages should all speak that person's language.

Planning them together saves work

When the site and the panel are thought through at once, it is clear from the start which content can be edited. The patched-together feel of panels added later never appears, and upkeep gets easier.
